After more than a year’s hiatus, CreativeMornings Budapest returned to the city’s cultural scene with a talk held by Publicis Groupe Hungary CEO Helga Sásdi.
In 2008, Tina Roth Eisenberg (founder of design blog Swissmiss) started CreativeMornings out of a desire for an ongoing, accessible event for New York’s creative community. The concept was simple: breakfast and a short talk one Friday morning a month. Every event would be free of charge and open to anyone.
Today, attendees gather in cities around the world to enjoy fresh coffee, friendly people, and an international array of breakfast foods. Volunteer hosts and their team members organize local chapters that not only celebrate a city’s creative talent but also promote an open space to connect with like-minded individuals. The growing archive of past breakfast talks is humbling. From design legends to hometown heroes, speakers are selected by each chapter based on a global theme.
The first CreativeMornings event in Budapest since August 2020 was held inside the ballroom of Publicis House, the creative heart of the PGH headquarters, on October 29.
The central theme of this month’s inspirational talk was “dare”—a combination of bravery and defiance; the act of working up the nerve to make the soaring leap even when you’re not sure what the outcome will be.
The host of the Budapest chapter was PGH CEO Helga Sásdi, who talked about her winding life path (which took her through the United States, the UK, Finland, and the Netherlands before setting her back down in her native Hungary) and the role fearlessness and knowing exactly what you’re aiming for played in her realizing her dreams and achieving her goals.
Besides some truly revelatory thoughts, those who attended were treated to heavenly pick-me-ups like warm coffee and delicious raisin- and chocolate-filled sweet breads from Marmorstein Bakery.
The hour-long event was the first of many more CreativeMornings to be held at Irányi utca 17, so make sure to keep an eye on the Facebook page of CreativeMornings Budapest for news on future episodes.
